  • I think they are somewhat. As far as attitudes, behaviour and fashion are concerned anyway. I think that there should be more Sean Connery style slapping of girls, they have to know their place.
  • Yes, but every group is oppressed in some way by another group, so it doesn't matter anyways.
  • men are seen as a joke these days. to be laughed at. its sick tbh
  • I think women have a more freedom in regards to clothes and physical contact (They can hug and walk down the street holding hands and no one bats an eyelid) guys however wont be called a 'slut' if they have many sexual partners and appear to have more sexual freedom. Thats just my take on it anyway XD
  • Yes, oppressed and repressed. I.e by others and by themselves.
  • Being psychologically forced to conform to sociologically accepted standards of "what makes a man" is a form of oppression against men. Aren't we oppressed when we are expected to be unthinking, unfeeling, brutish cock-machines?
  • I think that men can be oppressed by other men in general in terms of displaying the softer emotional vulnerabilities, and showing what they fear might be seen as feminine attributes. I'm a man, but I don't worry about what those other men think of me, so I don't feel at all oppressed.
  • The very term "Man" has become a symbol of social control. A "Man" must be stoic, and powerful enough to take on any foe, and brave enough to tackle any challenge, and charismatic enough to sweep any woman off her feet...and so on and so forth... In other words, any man who isn't the "Knight in Shining Armor" is inadequate. . . . An interesting sidenote...most socially-prescribed definitions of manliness make no mention of intelligence. And the ones who do, usually do so at the expense of women (i.e. A man must be smarter than his woman, and if he is not, he is not a real man). It shows you how ignorant old traditions die-hard.
  • I think the fact that allot of men think about sex nearly all the time is frowned upon by society. I'm not saying that we should be able to act on our sexual desires at any given time, but I think allot of us follow what is politically correct and men aren't really free to be the sexual animals we really are. Probably for the better. We're domesticated for sure.
  • Well, I'm not sure. What do YOU think?
