Historians know that if you have evidence to prove history, especially the amount of evidence left after the holocaust, that makes the facts believeable. The evidence of all the bodies and the artifacts at holocaust museums is overwhelming. Also there are still witnessess who are still alive who can tesfify of the horrors.
