If someone knew ever since they were a child what they "wanted to be when they grew up", could that overly-simplistic view of what that job would entail still remain as they got older?

    It did for me. since the age of 8, i always wanted to be a police officer.

    I just retired after 44 years, after realizing that my dream as a child, did come true.

    I am blessed.

    They may always have this idealized view of what the job might entail, but not the downsides like tedious or unforseen work that goes along with it.
