I would call it a male lady beetle. The name comes from "Our Lady's Bird" (they were first lady birds.) As "Our Lady", Mary, Jesus' mother, was often depicted wearing red, much like a lady beetle.

They are properly called lady beetles. As they are beetles and not true bugs. (and they are most certainly not birds.)

Male ladybug. The name refers to Mary, Mother of Jesus, "Our Lady". In German, the name is Marienkaefer or Mary Bug.

Coccinellidae. Is the most proper (Latin name) for it identifies both sexes. Ladybug is the slang for both sexes.

    I call them "gentlemanbugs."

Nah, just kidding. You just call them ladybugs.

I don't really look to see if they are male or not, so I don't really use whatever special term that goes with the male ones. They're all ladybugs to me...

Anything I want, I'm really not scared of ladybugs. The worse thing one has done to me is excrete some feces on my leg.

    Really, it's just a ladybug.

Or, you could call him Mister Ladybug or give him a name.

Ladybugs are just a slain term in english a aphyd beetle, the femine name has no correlation with its gender, so a male ladybug is .... a ladybug.
