Many airlines do not accept cash -guessing they don't want to take the time to make change and have to carry the money. I believe a private business can say how payment is to be made if one wants to make a purchase. I have heard of what you refer but have never relly seen a ruling on it - good question +5.
The only other time I have heard of any business refusing cash is certain Country Clubs,everything has to be charged to a person's memberships.
I know! How weird is that?!
That seems weird... was it a domestic flight on a domestic airline? I can see them refusing certain currencies. Though I don't really think you can compare this with "debt" -- they're providing a service, maybe they just don't want to deal with cash in the air.

You're reading Can airlines refuse cash for payment for inflight drinks? I thought refusing to accept cash for a debt was illegal?
