lol no i have noticed that too. Thought it was just me! Glad to have someone on my side in this weird observation.
Very timely question. I bought a replacement Nike Flexon frames on ebay for $89 (the eye doc wanted $329). The optometrist agreed to swap out my lens for free. The reason the frames look so goo is because they come with plain thin glass and small lenses.
I'm not sure why; but I found the same thing. With my glasses; I think it's because when I tried them on before they put the prescription lense in, they had thin lenses. When I received mine, I was surprised at the thickness of the lenses! They are those frameless glasses; that look almost like you have none on, but if I move a certain way you see how thick the rim really is!
Can you use auto polish on glasses?

You're reading Why do eyeglass frames always look better before BEFORE the lenses are put into them? Or is this just my imagination?

Well, I bought a new pair of eyeglasses. When I first found the frames I liked a couple of weeks ago, I tried them on and they looked great on me. But today when I went to pick them up (with the new lenses installed), they don't look as good now, as if the frames don't fit my face as nicely as before. Sigh! I'm glad I'm not the only one who "sees" this. Thanks alluseek.
