Just riding in a little 4 seater plane is scary enough! Those little things bounce you around like a rubber ball in a glass jar!!! Talk about spooky!!! +5 . Have you Kewl?

You mean like when I was in the Air Force and one engine went out and the other started leaking oil and we had to strap on our chutes? You betcha!

When we landed in Aspen, CO airport, the pilot pretty much "plopped" the plane down on the runway ... we found out later, that is normal for that airport when big jets land on it ... it has a pretty short runway.

Nope.

2 seater Cessna, landing at an airport in the UK. Wind coming from the North, we're landing from the south. it feels like i'm in a pirate ship ride as the plane is swinging from left to right. The chatty pilot is now very quite. When we do land, we bounce about 3 or 4 times and evntually come stop in a grass verge half way down the runway. We get out and the pilot says "its always a good landing when you can walk away from the plane. As we make our way back to the ATC tower, another plane gets the same treatment but nearly lands on us. Forgot to say, this was my first ever flight experience.

Yes my Airbus 340 dropped down so much 20 minutes after take off in Europe last July that I lifted at least 3 inches off my seat, people screamed so loud when that happened:) Also flying to Orlando last month, we went thru very violent turbulence, I have never experienced anything like this ever in 20 years and so many flights, my wife, my 4 year old and some other people on board started crying of fear, that was really scary:(

When waiting to fly out from Frankfurt airport in Germany to Ensheim Saarbrucken in the Saarland. Our twin propped Fokker Friendship had to wait for six larger airliners to take off before we got permission. There were sixteen of us on the aircraft all of different nationalities. We got permission and our plane taxied onto the main runway. When taking off at about 100 foot off the ground the aircraft hit the vortex turbulence from the six large airliners and we banked over 90 degree's to portside and everybody cried out in their own language. The pilot righted the aircraft and the DLT (Lufthansa) stewardess came along the gangway laughing her head off. We all ordered double spirits from her to calm our nerves.

Uh, yeah! Cleared to land on one end of a runway in a Cessna 172 and the controller had a 737 on final for the opposite end of the runway. It's not always easy to flair and land while landing lights of an approaching aircraft are lighting up the cockpit.

Yes, once long ago I was a passenger on a DC-9 going into Atlantic City. It's the FAA tech center so it's very well lighted and a nice runway. It was IMC (instrument). The first attempt the pilot did a 'missed approach'. On the second attempt we were high and fast... the pilot throttled all the way back and we floated down much of the runway. When it finally bled off enough speed to land of course it was very smooth. All the passengers were thrilled it was smooth(except me). When it touched he went on reversers BIG time and started pumping the brakes to the point where the nose gear was compressing. He made the last turn off and it was still too fast, the tricycle gear did a 'hop' on the turn. I watched as the left wing passed way too close to the end of the runway and I got a real good look at the REIL(Runway End Identifier Lights). The pilot was at the door and everyone was praising the "smoothest landing they ever had". Except me, I gave him an "I know" look and he frowned and ducked back to the cockpit.
