Why Do Most Men Hate Soap Operas?

Because they really, really suck.

:-)

Because they're goofy and sappy and drama-filled and pathetic.

Not enough zombies, guns, fast cars, or one-legged strippers.

Let's see:

---There's nothing remotely gladiatorial or ball-oriented about them

---No exploding pickup trucks

---All the women look pretty much the same, and they wear waaay too much clothing

---All the male actors are waaay too metrosexual

---Situations that would be resolved in 20 minutes in real life (or 20 seconds in an action movie) get dragged out over 2 weeks.

What's to like?.....;-D...

I used to watch The Young and the Restless, Dark Shadows, Knot's Landing, Queer as folk and SOAP (I know SOAP was a comedy, but I loved it) Now I watch Dexter and True Blood (if you can call those soap operas)

Because many soap operas are overly-emotional and written FOR women, what very little action there is tends to move very, very slowly AND most men know that women tend to compare their humdrum lives with what happens on their soaps. And, let's face it, most of us have enough unnecessary and unwanted drama in our lives without having to watch soap operas.

I have watched some soap opera and I am a male. I guess the overuse of drama and silly plots would get to most men. But some UK soaps are written for all and can be intresting.
