i Would recommend going to an independant shop that specializes in toyotas rather that the dealer mostly because dealers have a high tunover rate for technicians and the car is too old to be fimiliar to a dealership tech.
Tow you vehicle to a Toyota dealer. idling appears to be the problem and that may be a bad sensor. a mechanic can give you answers right a way.
When was the last time you changed your pcv valve?
probably an ignition problem or crank sensor cam sensor problem should be easy find for a mechanic now that its dead.

I have a 1989 Buick LeSabre . Neither the A/C or heater blow out the vents when the fan is turned on. The fan itself works fine.

You're reading 2000 toyota celica gt. Revs go down when starting or idling and will stall. Hesitations going through gears. Some pinging when going through gears. Seemed to drive fine when on highway. Now not running at all.
