I rather like the look of those sheltered communities that are popping up, where there are staff but you have your own little appartment & can spend all day playing Bridge & complaining about modern music.
Neither, frankly, if I'm no longer able to care for myself, I don't wish to be a burden to my children or finish my life in a nursing home.
They always joke and tell me No, but I'm serious. Papa in moving in. LOL
Not in a home that is for sure...I told my kids I would rather them shoot me and bury me in the garden then to put me in a home.
In a home....I don't want to be a burden on my son
I plan on staying on a cruise ship! Free on board medical, free food, and the kids and grandkids can come see me on their vacations!!!
I plan on living in a "Senior Community". I can have independence and still have someone there incase I need help.
I have told my parents thousands of times they will never grace the inner walls of a nursing home, unless visiting friends. As for me and my wife I hope my children love us as much as I love my parents. In all honesty if it ever comes to that I do not want to be in a "home"!
If I get to that point, hope someone takes me out and shoots me if I can't do it myself. I won't be put in a home, and I don't want to be a burden.
When I can no longer live alone, I won't care.
I pray not to live past the time I can live independently. So, I don't have a plan.
i plan on sitting on my brimstone throne...and do what i must...long after my spawn are gone...
High Shaman if you live near the coast, go to the cruise line day of departure, ask for reduced rates so they can fill the ship. Sometimes you can go on a 5 to 7 day cruise for $300. May not be the best room and you can't get drunk every day way expensive to drink, but it should be fun!!
I have a final plan

Fingers crossed I'll be one of those cheeky old gits with a walking stick I can wave at people, while pretending to be deaf :)
