We know that the number is at most 6 away from other numbers. This immediately rules out 39, 49, and 50 which are 10 and 11 away from each other. It also rules out 47 that is 8 away from 39. That leaves 45. 45 is 6 away from 39, 5 away from 50, 4 away from 49, and 2 away from 47. So there are 45 marbles in the bowl and Alice guessed correctly.
