You're reading Eurovision Song Contest: Does anyone know if I can watch this in the USA? If so, can you tell me the channel/network please.
Comments
I used to have blinkered and narrow viewpoints about music (and other things) but I realised that it didn't give me the best enjoyment from life and drove me to ignore very nice things. In addition, contrary to your statement, there is quality and talent in this festival of music, every year, as we saw again this time with several singers with great voices. Either you must not be paying attention or you choose not to.
Yes, some of the acts are poor, some can dress weird and act strange (which is as much to focus attention on them as anything else) but it doesn't detract from the event in the way you suggest, otherwise 120 million people wouldn't watch it each year.
Wogan is certainly very funny, but this year I felt he disrespected several acts by continuing to talk after the songs had started.
For me this event is like travelling around Europe for a few hours, enjoying the beautiful variety of musical culture and styles, dress, ideas and people.
I hope your views don't stay with you.

The comments you've made to the two answers you received to this question prompted me to look at your profile, just to see if you really are as arrogant as your comments here suggest. I must confess that I wasn't surprised when my suspicions were confirmed. Your phrase 'I used to have blinkered and narrow viewpoints' must refer to the period of your life when you wrote your personal notes. I'm delighted that you've moved on and suggest that you update your profile to reflect that development in your personality.

American-in-Training's comments seem to have that effect on a lot of people. Few produce better responses than yours.
