I use debit cards for one reason: to live within my means. I have a problem of "shopping addiction" :) and using debit cards I force myself to stay within a budget.

I use a credit card because it gives me a cash rebate. Since I pay the balance off each month I would use a debit card if there was a rebate.

I'd hate the thought that everytime I used a debit card, that money comes out of my checking account right now.
With my credit card, I at least have some float time, where I can pay for things a little later..

With fees for debit cards comming, why not switch back to writing checks? Isn't debit cards a convenience for banks more than us?
