We had an amature magician who used to write on bits of paper the name of a flower and a number below 5.
Then he used to ask unsuspecting people to write a flower name and a number below 5.
His writing and the subject's writing always matched.
The flower was always 'rose' and the number below 5 was always 3.
No real magic involved. Just human behavioral psychology.
