Sometimes you will feel slightly worse while taking the medicine, depending on if there are any side-effects of the antibiotic.

Antibiotics will make you feel really bad the first few days. i have had my sinuses operated on. luckily, the surgery worked for me. its only a 50% chance for a successful surgery.i rode a police motorcycle for seven years and the pollution from buses did a number on my sinuses.

I have a few tricks up my sleeve for making your sinues feel better, if you desire to hear them.

Take all your antibiotics, till gone.

My worst enemy was to go outside in the cold air with a wet head. this played havoc on my sinuses.

Give it a few days, though in my case I got almost immediate improvement with amoxycillin for a case of bronchitis.

Beyond that, how certain is your doctor that you have some kind of infection that should respond to antibiotics? Bacteria are disabled by such drugs but viruses are not. Overprescribing of antibiotics leads to resistant bacteria.

You may be allergic. But on the other hand, you better not stop taking it. I got a sinus infection one time and my whole face swelled up. It hurt SO bad.

It may simply be a case of the necessary "lead-time" it takes for it to kick in. This is not necessarily analogous but our cat had a terrible respiratory infection and was put on antibiotics and got worse for a couple of days before he started getting better. Good luck to you and Happy Tuesday! :)
