Why should God do man's job?

Your frame of reference is wrong. We humans tend to see everything in terms of a happy life here on this broken earth. God's frame of reference is getting us off of this broken earth into a fixed one. It isn't that He doesn't care if we suffer here on earth, but everyone suffers here on earth, even the very richest. Most of that suffering comes directly from current sins and lack of knowledge of Him. If everyone behaved as He asks us too, very few people would suffer. When we send aid to third world countries, very often it ends up in the hands of the oppressor, feeding the very army that is doing the oppressing. Or it ends up rotting on a dock somewhere because the oppressor keeps it from getting to the people who need it. The problem isn't that there isn't enough to go around. The problem is that until they know enough to be or have Godly leaders, someone is going to take that plenty. When we reject God, we only add to the problem. But if you actually get around rich people, and I mean REALLY rich people, you'll find that they are often the unhappiest and loneliest people you'll ever meet. They are rarely thankful for what they have, they usually weigh each new acquaintance in terms of whether that acquaintance wants their money, they rarely have close friends or good marriages and they are often quite miserable. Conversely, you get around really poor people and they are often supported in a web of community and thankful for every morsel of food they get. So I'm not sure who God needs to help here.
