YES, spraying with Lysol could ruin the keyboard. Wait until the computer is OFF and take a alcohol cottonball (barely wet) and wipe the keyboard down.
what i would recommend is spraying a rag with a cleaner and then wiping it down unplugged. anyways that's what i do.
for desktops
step one, DISCONNECT IT FROM THE COMPUTER
step two vaccuum it with the upholstery attachment
step three dampen a sponge with one of these (never combine) disinfectant, lysol, 2 percent household bleach, or even one of those spray bathhroom germ killers. gently dab the keys so you see they are dampened,, then wipe it all with a dry, DRY DRY DRY nappy towel.
step four use hair dryer at low heat to gently dry any remaining liquid, then reconnect.
for laptops
omit step one
I washed mine in the sink and dried it on low in the oven. Didnt however have the results I wanted.

this web site tells you how.
for normal cleaning, use electronic wipes found at most any place that has computer supplies, usually 24 in a box around $3.00, each individual wrapped.

or you could just unplug the keyboard while the computer is on... no harm done.

yes you could unplug the keyboard; I never think of that cuz that would involve climbing under my desk and standing on my head to find the right connection to unplug....:-)
