  • Yes it is arrogant. It is used as a put-down by someone who thinks they are far more superior with a much better life than yourself. But of course this does not mean they are right.

  • I tried to get a life, but no-one seems to want me to have one. Oh well, I guess...
  • Yes it is. We all can get a little fanatical. Everybody's got little obsessions about something.
  • "Get a Life" means to find something useful to do, move on, maybe butt out of that person's business... I believe it is an arrogant, unfeeling thing to say, but let's face it, some people need to hear it.
  • It is an implication that one is too emotionally attached to a topic, or allows it to dominate their life to the extent of excluding other seemingly more important things. Usually it is used when a person is obsessed with something deemed of lesser value by someone else. Yes it is a bit arrogant because it is a judgement call by someone else using their own standards.
  • Its what people say when they cannot think of anything intelligent to say therefore showing their own lack of intelligence. Maybe they need to get an Education.

  • It is arrogant, as it implies that the person who is saying this knows better than you what is right for you. "Get a life" means, to me, get over it; whatever you are dwelling on isn't worth your time and energy and you need to focus on something else.
  • I personally wouldn't call it arrogance but what I do call it is ignorance. Whenever people tell me to "get a life" I think... How do you know I don't have one now? Is it that they would alter my life if they could? How and what would they do differently? What exactly is a "life"? Is it something you can buy or grab onto? In order to get it it would have to be of substance wouldn't it? (It's late and my mind is racing) :)
  • It means you are talking to a jerk.
