We were trained to be at their beck and call very quickly.
LOL--cats are the masters of the universe!
Ours whipped us into the humble and willing slaves we are in no time.
They've always ruled the house around here....
I have to agree.. and not just on the grounds of teaching us to "serve" them. When I got my first cat, I had to change a lot of things for the better. I began to slow my life down so I could spend more time caring for her, and soon began a number of other things that turned out to be mutually useful for us both.
I actually became more responsible and aware. Cats are good at training people to clean up for example. If you truly care for your cat, you like having them around and they reward you with their company more often when they are comfortable in their environment. They insist on being in a clean area, so you clean up more often.
And because a meow can mean a great many things, they teach you to pay attention. As odd as it may sound, I have an easier time understanding my fellow human beings if I have a cat in the home because I am more attentive.
Cats also have needs and require attention. When something is not right with them, they let us know.. even if it's just a bit of loneliness. I found the challenge of having a cat for the first time both frustrating and rewarding, and by the end of it felt I had learned a great deal. I felt I had accomplished something worthwhile, and it boosted my confidence.
As each cat has entered my life since, I have continued to learn and to be reminded of better habits. So yes, I believe they are excellent trainers! :)
Yes, they both trained me to get up in the morning very early and feed them treats.
When my cat(18) comes in from being outside and she cannot find me right away, she meow's very loudly until she sees me. Is this normal?

If your cat likes certain people, do you also like those people? In other words, do you trust your cat's judgement?

You're reading I think cats are wonderful trainers. Ours trained us within a week. How about yours?

I guess it is to our mutual credit (we humans) that we are so compliant and willing to follow the Master's/Misstress' commands without question. Thank you for your answer Merfish and Happy Sunday! :)
