  • Even the most comfortable bra ever made by feather fairies would be less comfy than going without. Not that I'm against them in any political sense, I just think it sucks to have to wear one. Even a proper fitting one.
  • IMO, unless a woman has large and heavy breasts which will cause back pain or similar problems, they can go without one until they feel they need one. Then again, I don't have to deal with that problem so mine is just an observer's opinion.
  • I'll let you know if I ever find a 'proper fitting one'. Which isn't going to happen, BTW, unless I make it myself.
  • I don't want to subject you to TMI. As a woman ages the best fitting bra in the world cannot offset gravity. :)
  • i have some bras that fit like a dream but i still don't like them unless i am showing off my girls in a low cut top. +5
  • like the slaves beaten with a belt never had a proper fitting belt? its not the objects, its the abusers and their sentiments. now, on the other hand, give me a victoria's secret catalog and i can imagine total objectification.
  • I've always wondered how the bra could be considered an "object of oppression". Women should take care of their sweater puppies any way they wish, so long as they aren't obscene about it in public. If they wanna wear a bra...so be it. If they DON'T wanna wear a bra...also OK. They are the ones who have to live with whatever consequences their actions may take. If they have bigguns that they don't mind gravity working over for a few decades without support, that's OK. Men don't feel oppressed about wearing their briefs...why should women feel oppressed about wearing their bras?
  • Naw, they just had too much free time on their hands.
  • It could be that but I suspect it's more a case of looking to make a mountain out of her molehills just for the sake of protesting the male dominated society.
  • I will be the voice of dissent - I prefer to wear a bra than go without, and I do not have huge breasts. No bra means the girls flop around and that makes them sore, so I prefer having support to prevent the bouncing. Plus, they look much nicer in a proper bra [which I might add took forever to find, I was on a mission, and the kind I like will most likely be discontiuned.] As for women seeing bras as a sign of oppression, I think it was a very obvious icon to use, since bras can feel constricting just as society was/can be constricting of women. Just a thought.
  • After all, the original design wasn't meant to enslave.
