There is too much concern over who is and who isn't. You lose it, and there is no magical moment, you don't suddenly change... you are still you, just without a little flap of skin (which btw, can also be damaged in many other ways).

If a girl or woman truly loves herself and respects herself, she will have sex when she is ready, not because someone is pushig her to or making fun of her for being a virgin. Although, with age comes wisdom. At some point you might wish you had waited even longer.

Still is, by many people. You have to learn not to listen to everything the media tells you, hard as that might be...they tried to tell me the same rubbish when I was young too...

My wife was a virgin , it was one of the requirements when I was looking for a future wife.
    That's how important it is!

That depends on who you ask.
It's not important to me personally in the slightest.

But many people would tell you different, to many people it does seem to matter.
I don't see *Why* anyone would care, it's not like it's some major thing, perhaps to the particular person it can be, but it shouldn't be anyone elses concern.

As a man, who was virgine when I married my virgin wife, I can assure you that it feels great for 2 persons to start their life like this, they will have a special bond connecting them spiritually.
When I remember that night, I feel something special toward my wife.
I were in our mid 20s.

I think it should be since it is a special thing you can really only share once. The unfortunate reality I think is that it has been devalued through mainstream media, as well as other sources, which I believe does have an effect on some of the choices people make such as sex. I also think one of the issues is the lack of information being provided to younger generations about sex. Just my opinion anyway.

I think it's ridiculous that people are ridiculed for being virgins.

To an extent, yes. But sometimes it's made into too big of a deal. I'm a 15 year old girl, and I plan on waiting until I'm in love. Not until I marry necessarily, as I was not raised to believe in any religion or anything like that. It's my choice and I think it should be something special with someone you care about.

    For guys :

Do you like your wife to compare you with all her ex-sex-mates ?

Do you want to be the only person your wife has ever have sex with ?

    For girls :

Ever wonder why you have a hymen and guys don't have it ? Are you trying to tell me the Creator (evolutionist, that's fine, just use "evolve") is an inefficient, stupid Being when "it" creates women ?

For those you have lost their virginity, you can argue all you want, and come up with "I am intelligent, highly educated, cultured, compassionate, full of whatever life experiences.....", but any virgin can acquire all these fine things in life, and make her husband proud by letting him know that he is the ONLY person she has ever had sex with, and honor that committment. Any man would treasure such a wife.

I was a virgin and wished my wife had been one. I got over her sexual history, but that does not mean it didn't hurt.

It depends upon your mind set.How you take it.If you give it importance then it si other wise its your choice.
But if some one wants to preserve virginity.Thats really praise worthy atleast in todays world.

I think it depends where you come from, your friends, religion and to some extent your place on the socio-economic scale.

Whereas some people are desperate to loose the label, and are rediculed for being a virgin, others are still just as desperate to keep it as they were in the victorian times (think the silver ring thing). I think the majority of people fall somewhere in the middle, believing it is better to keep your virginity nitl you are in a realitionship with someone you truly love.

Having sex is somthing that is so personal,so giving of oneself its something that really should be done by 2 people that are totally committed to each other. Please,do me a favor.Go to a quiet room, sit down and close your eyes. Visualize your vigina(in detail) and think to yourself, am I willing to let this boy put something into me and take something away from me that I will never get back. Think! Am I willing to let him do something to me that is the most personal thing a women can do with a man.
You married ladies do the same thing, close your eyes and visualize your vigina(in detail)for a few minutes. If the hubby is around, slowly turn to him, open your eyes, take a deep breath and say "I love you",if things are right(the kids aren't around) you're more then likly be tearing off each others clothes. Maybe I'am old fashion or maybe I'am a nut,I don't know, but the next time a girl tells you,"I'am still a virgin". Think how proud she most feel. Does this sound like virginity is still important?

Only if you believe in that sexist 'purity' bullshit. Also, I suppose it is pretty important if you're deprived like me and want to get rid of it.

It still is because it is believed that it is a special gift to your husband and that it is very difficult for a man to leave you after breaking you, they kinda feel attached to you, and evenif they are going to leave you they will feel guilty.because you lost ur virgity to him and he owes you.

Yes it still very important although today people try to discredit it but it very important and the best gift you can give to your mate.

Well, lost mine to a female that was atractive did I lose my virginity to her if she was the only one I was with like that you know? I think guys use that virgin thing to the tightes cleanest stuff. I know that I am extreamly tight when me and my hub have u know it hurts and I am u know. I am very clean and only been with female no male but my hub I am bi but I like women a lot more than me more attractive unless they are pretty boys I like. my husband has the cute look that I like not many guys have that males that have the manly and cute fetures.
Some times being a virgin is the best thing you have some thing that people want to take from you your purety once you sleep or have sex of any kind you will never be the same!!! Sex caluses a lot of proplems just look at the tv maury who is you babys daddy. there was a song there goes my babies daddy. You think people would watch tv and get the hint after all these years I guess NOT!!!!Hit it and run, most men dont respect u if u put out look at hookers and prostutes the get killed for having sex and getting money for it. What is the diffrence of a married woman getting money from her husband to go get grocerys like not like a pimp kind of the same thing if the woman doesnt have a job on the side that is. I guess husbands are like pimps in a way but you have sex with them every day or night for free and you cook and clean like slaves for them the same thing.

It is important to some people, but not to others. Some people place importance on losing their virginity, while some place importance on keeping it unitl they get married. Others do not care about losing or keeping it. I still think it is something that should be valued and kept until you are married.
