Every now and again I rent a series and watch it. Generally I choose a non-network show and am amazed at the quality of the writing and the way the story can arc over several seasons. But of course I'm usually watching the cream of the crop.
.
On the other hand, sometimes I find myself in a public place with a TV on and then I am amazed in the other direction, the same tired sit-com tropes, the artificial acting, the general dreariness of the whole thing.
.
Commercials are better than ever. Honestly the best work on TV is in the ads and it should be since a million dollars are spent on a hundred seconds.
Too much American crap on it.
Repeat, repeats, repeats ... and more repeats! *rolls eyes*
Not a lot of good programs on, and when there is, they usually clash with another channel. Why is it TV3 (NZ) always schedules 'House" at the same time a decent movie is on TV2 grrr!
Boring as there are lots of commerical.
too many ads to be worth watching. no tv any more.
there are shows i like and ones i dont i think this will allways be the case.in general i dont think t.v is getting better or worse exept m.t.v which has really gone down hill in the last few years.
The same I thought of it thenadays - not much. +5
There are some good shows, like Mercy and Three Rivers. I miss the Sopranos and Battlestar Galactica though
Reality
Total rubbish. I stopped watching the idiotbox about 20 years ago, except for news on crisis-type things. +5
too much crap on all channels!
Mindless crap.
there are some shows i would like to watch. they arent in my time frames. there are a lot of reruns. the weather is good. the news, well even if they told the truth, would we believe it. I dont watch much television. I am in tune with the internet. its the same for me.
Telepoison. Except for a few good channels, that's about what it amounts to. I like the educational channels and nature channels. The movie channels can be good. The rest should be trashed. Even the news is awful these days rife with opinons instead of facts anytmore.
Lots of commercial and no entertainment.
