I believe in NC, statutory rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor could be charged, if applicable and demonstrable.

In any state it is legal for any person of any age to date anyone else. However, if there is any sexual contact involved... it varies by state. In NC a 16 year old can have sex with whomever they like and it is not a crime, unless the older person is a school faculty member and the 16-year-old is a student there. edit: unless they are the same sex, in which case it is illegal in NC and most of the other red-states.

Not in North Carolina unless he or she is a teacher of the person being dated. But if they refrain from sex, a case could be made that it is legal. But why date then? What would be the point?

What kind of sick 30 year old would want to date a 16 year old in the first place? I hope it is illegal. At 30 years old 16 year olds look like babies to me and it would disgust me even to consider dating one. I would recommend passing on this guy... think about it.. why doesnt anyone his age want him? A 16 year old would be perfect naive pray and gullible enough to fall for his trap... Run!

im 16 and started seeing a 30 year old man, if any1 in the same boat as me, get rid of him he only taking advantage, his a sick man, and could be classified as a pedo. im discuted in myself and now i can move on and learn from my mistakes and hope others can learn from mine. tell him to f**k off and get sum1 his own age!!

i just want to say that not all 30 year olds are creeps and pervs like most of you people say... some 30 years olds might have a slight disability and have the mind of a teenager... and it makes it hard for them becuase nobody there own age wants to be with them so the 30 year old finds it easier to be attracted to a 16 year old becuase they would have more things in common with eachother... you people need to understand that age does not make who a person is on the inside... and also i want to make it clear that just becuase you love somebody it doesnt mean that you have to have sex with them... if a 30 year old has a relationship with a 16 year old and there is no sex between them, then there should be no problems as far as i can see... if anybody disagrees then please respond
