  • If it is a new car they will require regular service checks,oil changes,etc. the service will have to be with them and if you take the car somewhere else because you prefer your own mechanic they could void the warranty.

  • I used to work in the service department of a car dealership. A manufacturer will void your warranty if you try to repair the car yourself. When something goes wrong, take it into a licensed dealer only. +5
  • Using the vehicle for purposes for which it wasn't intended is one. Modifications to the vehicle not approved by the manufacture is another. Tampering with the odometer or engine hour meeter. Not servicing the vehicle according to instructions. Using an unauthorized type of fuel in the vehicle. Using the vehicle outside of it's intended market. ( Using a car meant for North American Usage in Australia for example ). Towing or carrying loads in excess of factory limitations.
