Help answer this question below.

I have a 1996 S-10 pickup with a 4 cyl. 2.2 L. in it. i took a shortblock 2000 S-10 motor and put it in the 96 truck i putthe head, Crank sensor, Cam sensor, Ignition module off of the 96 motor on the 2000 block and i am having a detonation problem.

    The 2000 motor has a shallow dish in top of piston and a larger combustion ares in the head, the crank had the timming slot cut in the advance direction app 15 o/o your ECM cannot retard the spark enouth to prevent the spark knock , change crank shaft back to 96 bearings are the same , or change the ECM and under hood wireing harness to the 2000 model or go to the 2000 head and intake and maybe the ECM and harness , problem over.

    Hello, I recently changed my ignition coil pack and "stupidly" reversed the wiring from the module to the coil pack...what a racket the engine made spittin' & a'sputtering. Of course, find the number 1 plug wire and start putting the wires into the marked wire holesof the coil pack. I'm pretty sure GM firing order is 1-3-5 on the right side with #1 being the first plug/cylinder.
