your home page writing appears to be American English, so, i'll presume you mean the US civil war, although, i bet that every spec of land in the world has seen bloodshed from its own civil war. as for the us civil war, almost entirely in the southern states, disproportionately virginia. of course, the border states also had disproportionate action. the north only saw the invasion that led to the battle at gettysburg. i still don't know why lee didn't go in and capture washington dc in the first months of the war.

Place: The Prairies (Saskatchewan, Alberta, some parts of Manitoba). Reason: The plains Indians (Cree, Blackfoot, Blood, Peigan, and Saulteaux) and Métis where starving and the goverenment was treating them as second-class citizens with little to no legal rights. Time: It started on March 5th 1885 and ended that summer on June 3rd. Hope this helps. Oh wait a minute... you sure it was the Canadian Civil war you were asking about. 1642-1660 in Britain. Charles the 1st clashed with parliament and this led to conflict during which he was executed. It continued until 1660 when Charles 2nd suceeded in wresting power back.
