A true answer. Both pitchers and catchers are not generally the best hitters, which is a little odd, really. You would think they would be. Even odder is that fielders are often tremendous hitters.
American League has Desingated hitters for the pitchers, so wouldn't they hit the fewest?
You are right scubaduba! I was thinking of people who actually hit. Pitchers in the AL only hit during interleague play or in the World Series.

and yes, we dont play it here in NZ, we are more rugby and cricket people, and boy, those terms are way out there !!:)
Yeh, those "sticky wickets" and all...(lol)
