While driving down the road, sometimes the 4WD lights blink on/off, and will engage by itself. Any idea what would cause this?

You're reading I have a 98 ford explorer sport that has a manual transmission. I have had it serviced several times because it is hard to shift. I have had 2 clutch kits, 2 slave cylinders, and a master cylinder replaced. It is still hard to shift. Any ideas?
Comments
It is either hard to shift into all of the gears or at other times, it gets easier to shift. I have only run a tank of gas through it since the work was done and it actually seems to be working a little smoother now. Can the new clutch "break" itself in ??? Also, are you saying their is some fluid that I should have had changed in the transmission. The guys at Aamco never mentioned that it needed to be done. Thanks for the info.

Usually manual transmission fluid is good for the life of the car. However, if you treat it very severely (High tempteratures, frequent use, fast shifts, etc etc) then it may need to be changed. I am not usre how you drive so it was just a note.
