I believe the statement to be true. An intelligent enemy will calculate their moves to minimize their losses, and can be somewhat predictable. An ignorant friend will misinterpret much, make irrational moves and leave your back unprotected, open to attack. +5
It confuses me. An ignorant friend may inadvertently do something to harm you but it would not be intentional so the harm could be minimal. An intelligent enemy would have the mental wherewithall to hurt you greatly, because it would be his/her intention to do you harm. I would fear the intelligent enemy more because he/she might be the type to have no conscience, no concept of "fair play" and no brakes to stop the onslaught.
I agree. I have often been exasperated by some "friends" and have often had to bail them out of difficulties they got themselves into. Intelligent enemies are much more predictable, and often easier to deal with.
Seems to make sense. People can do the most harm when they're trying to be good.
