I am assuming theirs no kidnapping. I would be thinking he messed with the wrong family, giving in to threats just makes it worse, I would get my kids to safety and then go to war :P I have more then enough people good with guns in my family, and one ex green beret, I might not be able to shoot, but Ill get my swords :P However if it was a kidnapping, I would call the cops and hope for the best, and if they hurt my family they better hope I don't find them before the cops do.

I'm assuming there is no kidnapping, just the threat of killing your family.
I would sit and wait for them to come and blow their brains out when they stepped on my property.
Oh yeah, I'd check the caller ID and if they were stupid enough to let their number be shown, I would make some phone calls and some favors would be cashed in.
They would be hunted down.
