In the outside world, do "home-schooled" kids have an advantage or are they at a disadvantage over private/public-schooled kids? What kind of success do they enjoy that elevates their education over that of other kids?

    It depends on who the Teacher is.
    I am sure both type of Kids have some type of advantage.

    I think it's pretty hard to accurately answer this question since there are wild differences in what children learn in both home school and public settings.

    There are parents who home school who simply refuse to teach anything outside their narrow world view and others who do a great job. The public school experiences of children are very different too depending on their district.

    I think one advantage of the public school experience is that children do learn to deal with a larger variety of people and opinions.
