I seriously doubt they are that young. In my city you go into the academy after college. Here's a link with information.

I don't think so... but I don't think that means they should be excluded. Some are mature enough, and that must have been recognised for them to get the job.
In London, for instance, and I know the recruitment is very different here to the US, but anyway in London although you can apply for the police at I think age 18 or 19, often the application will be refused on the grounds of "lack of life experience". That can even apply to a graduate of 22.
It seems reasonable that the training cops receive would offset what they lack in age and experience.
As we get older and older, many people in many positions look younger and younger. I must believe they met the qualifications.
They may look young, but they have to be 21 in order to handle a firearm.
Being 65 and retired after 44 years in uniform, i can totally agree with you concerning their appearance.
I guess its just my age.
I think they all need more training for the issues I see occurring now.
Also maybe manners: The last one who I talked to was chewing and spitting right in front of me. Seriously. LOL. +5
