Why does the ADA always tell people not to stick anything metal in their mouths; and, the first thing dentists do, at a checkup, is poke around in your mouth with a metal prong? (Humor is welcome)

    Most likely because poking around in the mouth with a bit of sharp metal is best left to a professional to cause all the harm that poking a bit of sharp metal in any orifice is bound to cause....
