Do DVD players just die on the spur of the moment? Year old Transonic (yes cheap!) wont even turn on. Can hear tiny buzz inside but nothing else. Fix or relace?

new ones are pretty cheap, with a remote. easy set up. its probably just a bad belt on the old one. you could tear it apart and figuire out the fix so you would have a back up, or just another player for another tv.
