I didn't know it was. But, maybe because they make hiring US workers so difficult that businesses are forced to go overseas or go out of business. They make products that ARE created in the US more expensive.
I would say because this was one of the main causes if not the main cause of General Motor's failure. As companies get compromised to pay generous benefits to employees, they have long term financial commitments, that end up hurting the companies flexibility to hire new employees and lay-off employees as the economic phases change.
