How reliable is astrology?

As reliable as you want it to be. Its a matter of interpretation and belief. Some people would see it as being amazingly able to predict things, while others looking at the same information might see it as vague nonsense.

God has a purpose when He created the multitude of stars which are light years away from us. However I do not believe it is for the purpose of astrology. I do not want to speculate on the reliability of astrology but rather to say I will trust God for my past, present and future. God's Word will be the lamp for my feet and the light for my path now and for ever.

Personally, I don't believe the stars and planets have an iota of influence on our lives.
