Help answer this question below.
The US should halt all financial aid to Israel until settlements are stopped.
The west bank has already suffered a lot, the construction seems like a good step in fixing a bit of the resentment created by Israelis onto Palestinians.
and No, I would not have preferred a construction freeze.
It makes me wonder if Isreal really wants peace.
It only confirms the dangerous israeli minds... How much more does the US need to stop backing these greedy selfish criminals.. Remove israel from the east and you'll find peace for all... And do not forget that most of these criminals living under their crappy flag aren't even Arab...Just pure importations....
Nothing new here. Whether they announce it or not, they do as they please and nothing or no one can stop them. When they don't build them, then, they still the existing dwellings by force. However, what's interesting here is that (and Israel's fans should take note of this) the Zionists aren't even trying to hide anymore their true intentions, the land theft and their self-entitlement to that which is not theirs. They are now doing it openly and because they can. Going forward, they will show their true faces more and more.
Are you asking if I care that Israel is kicking ass and taking terrorists land? Then the answer is I am for it.

You're reading What is your opinion of the (7 SEP 2009) announcement by Israel to build more than 450 new homes in the occupied West Bank? Would you have preferred a construction freeze as requested by the US?

That would be a radical step to take.

Why? When a country gives financial aid it's not radical to request a cessation of acts it considers wrong. The US has made it clear - under democrat and republican presidencies - that the continued expansion of the settlements is wrong and detrimental to peace in the region. Everyone seems to agree about that (except the Israeli government). So why should the US continue to fund Israel when Israel takes no notice of these requests.
