Could someone please give me the results of this hand in texas hold em
2 players one player has A,8 the other has A,K
the flop is 3,8,2 the turn A, the river 2.No flush unsuited

isnt it the two highest pairs win but this guy made me split the pot!!

• you're right, but it still doesn't make a difference, kicker is like a tie breaker if they both had the same two pairs.

• why would the kicker determine the outcome if I player one had a higher 2 pair there is no need for the kicker

• player 1's kicker could have been a 2
  player 2's kicker could have been a anything else , but an 8 you beat the 2,if player one got the 2

• If the hands' main cards are the same, the kicker determines the outcome like: A/J and A/K with the community bieng A Q Q 3 7... They both have A/A and Q/Q but one has a K kicker and the other only a J... therefore the one with the K kicker wins

• yo but do u see the community pair is 2 so i have either a A,2 which i think would lose or tie or which i think i had but i had an 8 and there was an 8 on the board, i wanna know which two pair do i take, isnt it the highest two pairs possible. the example you gave the pair of QQ on the board is higher than the pair of JJ in my situatinon i have the higher pair one in my hand one on the board. • @anonymous - both zandalee and romie's answers are correct, you take the highest pairs available, so the player with AA883 beats the player with AA22K, and there is no such thing as a kicker in this situation because the value of the 2 pairs in the hands is not the same. If both players only had 1 pair each, a pair of 8s for Player 1 and a pair of 2s for Player 2, Player 1 would win, obviously... so logically As & 8s must also be better than As & 2s
