Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a Chrysler 300m. It's been very difficult to shift into park the last few weeks. Today it wouldn't shift into park for 10 mins. The car shifts fine when driving. Why is it so hard to put into park?

Had a similar situation with the shifter cable on my GMC 4x4. There's a small, cheesy bracket that holds the transmission end of the shifter cable in place. That small bracket had become rusted. Only a light push (by hand from underneath) was needed to put the cable into park. A quick harness made of polyethylene cable ties now hods the cable more securely than that flimsy bracket ever did.
