Nothing but pure energy. Scientists keep looking deeper into the atom and keep finding something else, never getting to the end. There will come a point when we see that everything is made of nothing.

Long-lived matter, the stuff we are used to dealing with on an daily basis, is made of only three basic "matter" particles:

    1) electrons
    2) "up" quarks
    3) "down" quarks

Protons and Neutrons are made of combinations of three quarks. Protons have two up quarks and one down quark, while neutrons have two down quarks and one up quark.
