  • I think it is a form of animal cruelty (though not the worst) because they don't let the dogs heal enough in time to really be healthy enough to breed again. This can also make the puppies be quite sickly and that doesn't help those who want dogs, either.
  • It is not printable what I think so I will say upsetting. I believe if you can document this animal protection MAY investigate as that is cruelty. What we can do are things like your post being here so it is fresh in the minds of people..Contacting local authorities, newspapers keeps it current. Things move very slowly but they are making headways. It is always with the publics help/input/ insistance (you and I) that changes are made. Breeders make only a portion of the problem, puppy mills whom I will not call breeders produce a large amount of the (unwanted)dogs we see in shelters. Breeding and breeding inferior often sick dogs. In the wild the litters would be farther apart because the pups stay with mom longer. Good question
  • If I told you what I think, it would be moderated as "offensive". Suffice it to say that I think they have questionable ethics, compassion, and responsibility. I think you should have to have a license to breed dogs, and that the practice should be regulated.
  • In my life I have known two people who breed dogs. One of them was a professional and earned her living at it and the other is my brother, who breeds Bernese Mountain Dogs as a hobby. Both of these people are passionate about the welfare of all of their dogs, mothers and puppies, and I think they are typical of dog breeders. However there are others who would better be described as owners of puppy factories and these people are to be despised. I agree with Angel M when it comes to these people.
