  • I know someone will give a better answer than this, but a lot has to do with the size, the width, the look of the road. I think a boulevard is usually tree-lined, an avenue is larger than a road. Streets are more defined and larger with heavier traffic than a drive and a lot depends on the city or state as well.
  • It's just a name. We have an Upsan Downs name for a thoroughfare in my area.
  • A road runs through the country. It hits town and becomes a street. Street and avenue are used somewhat interchangeably. Sometimes town planners name the east-west routes "street" and the north-south "avenue", or vice versa. A drive may be the name assigned to a scenic thoroughfare, such as along a riverbank or a coast. Often a lane is a slip through private property, like an extended driveway with ruts and grass in between the ruts, or a similar route leading to a secluded location. A court is often a dead end cul-de-sac.
  • there are three roads by my office Damfiwill.Damfino and Damficare.
