Question

Help answer this question below.

I got a C as a final grade in 8th grade Algebra 1, but that will show up in my High School average. Other than that I get all A's. Have I ruined my chance of becoming an Anesthesiologist?

High school grade average includes only grades 9 through 12. So your 8th grade score wouldn't be counted.

Anesthesiologist is a medical doctor. You have to graduate from a 4 year college, get accepted to 4 year medical school and then do a 4 year fellowship in Anesthesiology before becoming an anesthesiologist.

No of course not. A secondary school, ( post high school ), looks more at the checks coming in than academic grade point averages.

Basically the system works like this - if you have the cash - you can have a seat at our school.

Money speaks louder than grade point averages.

I don't think your eighth grade grades go into your high school GPA -- they do not in my state. No you haven't ruined your chance to go to med school. Just stay focused and make the best grades you can in HS and college.

Not really. One "C" among all "A"s won't affect your "A" average all that much.

I suggest, however, that you work on those math skills if you don't want to get a "C" in Algebra 2.

BTW, compared to most high school students here, your English is pretty good! Practically God-like! Congrats! Just pay a little more attention to that punctuation stuff, and you'll be fine :-)

Nope. Your grades don't really count until high school.
