Baby chicks? They're DELICIOUS, slow-roasted over an open fire, basted with a nice hickory smoked BBQ sauce!!!

Eggs produced correctly are not going to ever produce baby chicks. You run egg layers without a rooster, unless you want to hatch them yourselves, (assuming you raise commercial grade laying hens, because generally they aren't broody.)As for what I think about chicks, they are cute, and I add a few new ones to my flock each year. :)

My opinion on all animals is that just because plan to kill them doesn't mean they don't deserve respect, kindness, and to be treated with dignity. That is why I strive to eat only free range meat and dairy products.

I think they should treated well and nurtured until they are big enough for Sunday Supper.

ummm... eggs that people buy from grocery stores and eat are NOT fertilized, therefore, they are not baby chicks and will never become baby chicke. don't feel bad eating eggs... you're not killing anything.

It's the same as a womans period... her eggs (when fertilized by sperm) makes a baby... when unfertilized, its nothing.

I saw this the day it came out, the grinder is so quick they dont feel it, them being washed in hot water is the only screwed up part, the rest of it isn't hard on them, just looks ruff, they are trained how not to hurt the chicks otherwise they wouldn't be able to sell them.

Baby chicks are fluffly yellow mice....I work in an industry which produces chicken meat. I watch them grown from day old chicks to they are big enough and ugly enough for the final chop.
Fluffy yellow mice that go peep peep peep...try walking amongst them. They persist in trying to get UNDER your foot just as you are about to put your foot down. And yes, I have killed a few like that, messy and not fun.
So you can all go aaahhh and ooohhh over them, but they are not all that cute enmasse.
