Definitely! I was in one for almost an hour and had to keep my eyes closed tight, picturing blue skies above me. I had my eyes open for a few seconds when I first entered it and my heart started pounding like crazy.

I've had a few of those..and it doesn't get any better..I am not claustrophobic but they are not something I'd like to experience too often..its the dreadful noise that does it..

No, I've had them done before. I still hate the noise they make though.

I doubt it. I flew on small aircraft for hours in a combat zone, enclosed in a small cubicle....had 35mm AA come through the plane many times, crash landed upside down twice. But, I did my duty and kept getting back on the thing. If I didn't, somebody else would have had to. And I was good at my job. We all were. And one of the training courses was to be able to stand being captured and tortured. One of them was being crammed into a small box and being left there for hours. I passed the test...and many others.

    No, thankfully not.

If the doctors want to find something out - so do I.

I will sit throw an MRI if I have to and put up with the discomfort.

I am borderline. Certainly anxiety kicks in when the tray slides into the cavity.

No. I have had several and have no problem with them except for the noise.

I actually had to stop an MRI because of this. I overcame the phobia for Hyperbaric treatments but I have not tried the MRI since then.

I had to have an MRI because I'm having major pain in my lower back. The first time I went I was half way in the machine and freaked out and left and was shaky all day. I had to wait a few months until I would try it again, I once again freaked out, I could feel the tube closing in on me, I know it wasn't, but it felt like it and I had to go to the waiting room and calm down. Even though I'm now on Lexapro I also took two Valium and asked my Mom to go back with me. They gave me a cloth to put over my eyes and I wet it which I found calming. They let me go in feet first and I raised my arms over my head so my hands and arms were hanging out, my mom played with my hair and rubbed my head with one hand and held my hand with her other hand. It actually wasn't that bad, thanks to my Mom. I guess we still do need our parents as adults. Anyway, that was two days ago and I should get my results on Sept 1st. Good luck with your MRI.
