I did and still do. Growing up in Florida there was just to many reptiles not to play with...We had snakes, lizards, turtles and alligators...of course the alligators that I played with were very small....I now have 2 ball pythons and 2 anoles...I did have a bearded dragon but he passed last year.
No we dont get them wild here
But now as an adult I have 6 reptiles
No, I never liked snakes. However, one of my sisters had a garden snake she named Jacques Pierre, and also a chamelion. +5 !

i just put a new substrate in with my water dragons and the male keeps eating it. is this dangerous to his health? how can i stop him?

I like the bearded dragons. Very fragile little creatures. I played with frogs, tadpoles, lizards and turtles. No gators in our part of the world when I was young. Tadpoles were fun until they become frogs. Thanks, Ironhead.
