It doesn't stand alone very well, so it's hard to say how it would be in a poem. It needs context, and depending on that context, it could be good or stupid.

In all art, whether something is a masterpiece or a piece of crap is decided by people. . To me it sounds like a truism without much insight into anything. But don't ask me, cause I'm not into poetry.

Poetry isn't about public opinion, it's about expressing yourself. You can't really judge a poem by one line either. But I think that's a good line, it's true and real. =)
