No but my mom is on disability.

The only time I was briefly unemployed and eligible for unemployment benefits was following my discharge from the military. I could have sat back on my butt for several months and collected...but such would not have not been acceptable to my family or in my circle of friends. Nor would it have been to me. And, in truth, it would not have been looked upon favorably by a prospective top-notch employer, either. So, no, I have never accepted welfare, nor would I. Call it pride...but one way or another, I knew I could/would always earn my keep without taking advantage of others. In other words, I find that some people are givers, others takers. +5
