  • new jersey, i don't know why
  • Minnesota is my favorite! Reasons vary from high literacy rate to the low crime rate. The most miles of inter-city walking trails. The cutting edge medical care. The 11,000 + lakes, Lake Superior, and world famous Boundary Waters Canoe area. The wide variety of vegetarian serving ethnic restaurants with excellent food. One of the cleanest aquifers in the world, clean cities, and clean air. I could go on and on.
  • New York, because it is the best state in the country.
  • I've lived for lengthy periods in five States...Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and Florida. Of those, in terms of developing a career, New York and Pennsylvania offer the most opportunity, which is why I made my early life there. Unfortunately, the politics is most corrupt in those states...and taxes are not only high, but disgustingly extreme. The politicians are pure thieves. When most retire, however, they escape those states and head for states with considerably more conservative atmospheres/attitudes. I have visited some 37 of the 50 States. It's a wonderful Nation by virtue of its people. I wish foreign visitors didn't just come to NY. I know that it is the natural thing to do, but NY, especially New York City, is definitely not the USA...by any stretch...any more than London is the UK...again, by any stretch. Finally, for retirement purposes, Florida is my favorite State, with North Carolina coming in as a close, very close, second. +5
