What is a "Hard Fault"? Looked at Resource Monitor and saw the number of Hard Fault's for memory going up and down.

To expand a little bit, CRTs are basically a vacuum. There isn't even air behind the screen, only electron beams.

The funny thing is that such an apparently complex technology (the CRTs), were actually developed and widely used before the LCDs.
The truth is that an LCD panel is not easy to assemble. First of all there's a big and expensive circuit board. The cells themselves are quite complex and the transistors used to control them are prone to defects (the infamous "dead pixel"). Usually panels with more than 8 dead pixels are discarded. There's no easy way to repair them.
Anyway, as the demand increases, the prices are getting lower and lower.
